The Akete Art Foundation is delighted to announce curators for the 5th edition of the Lagos Biennial, billed to open in October 2026. Themed The Museum of Things Unseen, the biennial theme which questions historical art canons, will be marshalled by Chinyere Obieze, Furen Dai, and Sam Hopkins. The curators will be responsible for creating the basis for what will become the Akete Collection, along with a speculative museum space which responds to museum practices and art history. The core of their work would be creating a thematic base for works which will be received from museums and private collections as part of the collection.
